Borealis PE LE0865

About
LE0865 is a natural, modified polyethylene compound. Shutting down extruders can be facilitated by means of a special compound. LE0865 is a compound specially formulated to simplify the work with keeping the extruder, head and die clean during shut down. The compound does not stick hard to metal surfaces and is therefore easy to remove by purging or mechanically with e.g. a brass tool. The excellent heat stabilisation of the compound may also allow for prolonged stop times at elevated temperatures. The heat stability of the compound will prevent premature thermo oxidative degradation that can result in oxidised particles that may be formed during extruder stand still. The compound has been demonstrated effective in allowing weekend shut down of film extrusion lines without dismantling for cleaning. It has also been found effective to aid dismantling of HV extruders and crossheads which are subjected to relatively low temperature extrusion processes. However, LE0865 is normally not effective for cleaning of extruders where high process temperatures result in degraded material being accumulated during normal operation. In these cases the use of a properly formulated cleaning compound followed by dismantling and mechanical cleaning is recommended.&&
